Donations or loans

Fortunately, because a collection is never finished, as every avid collector knows … The origin of acquisitions is very diverse: purchase of unique pieces that turn up at online and traditional auctions, surprising finds at flea and flea markets, exchange and takeover of pieces or even entire collections. But a lot of pieces nowadays find their way to the museum themselves through donations or loans.

Below is an overview of the most eye-catching new collection pieces that the National Tobacco Museum recently managed to acquire.

  • Donation 598 tobacco jars (Antonin Rispal)

    In summer 2019, Parisian artist Josette Rispal, with the help of Koen Roelstraete (member of the Tobacco Syndicate) and Robert Zehil (antique dealer) contacted the city of Wervik.
